Two Matrix Security Patrol Officers were recently carrying out their routine patrols of Cornwall Park when they were alerted to an elderly gentleman on the ground near the cafe. They quickly attended to the man and found that he was unconscious and bleeding from a fresh cut on his face.

One Officer administered first aid; monitoring the man’s condition, using her jacket to elevate his head and stem the bleeding, and placing him into the recovery position.

The second Officer called for an ambulance and was able to locate the gentleman’s wife who was nearby and obtain some details. A short time later the ambulance arrived and transported him to hospital.

Both Officers had up to date first aid training which enabled them to confidently handle the situation and keep the scene safe for themselves and others.
